It was back to the East Coast! Prayer Trek 3 launched on August 29, 2013, leaving that Thursday morning at 6:00 AM. We departed Austin, Texas, and headed toward our first destination of prayer - Jackson, Mississippi. God spoke very clearly to us as the sun came up along the highway during the early morning hours:
- Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. Lamentations 3:21-23
- The LORD has established His throne in heaven and His kingdom rules over all. Psalm 103:19
The agenda was a two-week journey to seven southeastern states. We traveled to the following seven state capitals:
Raleigh, North Carolina
Columbia, South Carolina
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
As the intercession began on the first day, we sensed the undeniable need for the peace and reconciliation of men and women in many of these states. There was a strong prayer focus for brotherly love and equality to be instilled in the hearts of all men.
We also had the opportunity to pray for God's protection over the southeastern states' coastlines and ports as we drove, asking God for His grace to protect them from severe storms and from terrorist attacks.
The certainly enjoyed the scenery! We had time to view both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico with its white sand beaches. The view of the ocean reminded us of God's vast love over us as we pondered how deep and how wide is His love for each of us. Of course, traveling to the East Coast, we crossed over the magnificent Mississippi River twice. We saw many wonders on the trip!
We hope you will enjoy the photographs of Prayer Trek III as you join with us in our journey!
