Trek 9

One Nation Under God!

Our mandate to pray at all fifty capitals was finished with this trek when we traveled to the states of New England: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts and to New York, traveling October 11-20, 2015. It was fitting that the theme for this final trek would be, "One Nation Under God!"

Flying out of Austin, we traveled to Maine to begin our approximately 1000-mile journey by car. Starting with Augusta, Maine,  we drove in a large loop praying in the final seven states, with the last capitol being Boston, MA. After Boston, we planned to pray a final prayer for the conclusion of the mandate at The National Monument to the Forefathers, located in Plymouth, MA.

The scriptures for Prayer Trek 9 were:

     - Psalm 16:8 - I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
     - Matthew 18:19 - Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
     - Romans 4:20-21 - Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
     - Psalm 90:17 - May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.
     - Isaiah 26:1-4 - In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; God makes salvation its walls and ramparts. Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.

We have been running with the good news of the gospel with the prayers of salvation for the lost souls on all of our prayer treks, yet we sensed a great resistance to the move of God in many of the New England states. We carried a tremendous burden for this area in our hearts while listening to the Father’s heart, since it was far more noticeable than our other prayer treks. Christianity was prevalent here many years ago, but now there seems to be just traces of it. There were many churches next door to each other in nearly every town. We continually prayed for unity and denominational walls to come down, trusting that as these prayers and declarations were released, the answers would be on the way. The zeal of the Lord will accomplish this!

Isaiah 9:7 – Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it and to establish it with judgement and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

The New England States have many key places in American history that significantly affected the foundation of our country. The two words - Freedom and Liberty were preeminent as we proceeded on this prayer trek!

On Monday, October 12th, Columbus Day, we prayed at Augusta, Maine, the 44th state of the prayer trek. We met several prayer leaders on the capitol steps that morning and the shofar was sounded! The motto for Maine is Dirigo – Latin for “I direct.” As we prayed, we felt God’s presence letting us know that He is indeed directing the state of Maine.

The breaking of the day first comes into our nation’s mainland on the coast of Maine. Psalm 24 is a key passage of scripture, to read and to welcome the KING of Glory to come in through the East Gate blessing our prayer time in this region and for the UNITED STATES. This scripture was given to us on this day from the state prayer leader in Maine:

Isaiah 45:1-3; "This is what the Lord says to Cyrus, his anointed one, whose right hand he will empower. Before him, mighty kings will be paralyzed with fear. Their fortress gates will be opened, never to shut again. This is what the Lord says: I will go before you, Cyrus, and level the mountains. I will smash down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness -secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name. Amen!"

The next morning, we prayed in Concord, New Hampshire. Their motto, "Live Free or Die", is displayed on the license plates of the automobiles. New Hampshire was the first state to sign the Declaration of Independence. We agreed with God that New Hampshire would be the first state to restore their full covenant with God and bring the country back to the spirit of full liberty and freedom.

New Hampshire has great influence with the first political primary to determine the President of the United States. Is it the Esther state for the nation in this hour? We declared: what is dead will live; what has strayed, will be made correct and right; and the spirit of truth will hover here for the direction that comes from God alone to guide the country through this state’s influence for the other primaries. We believed that our prayer time was appointed by God - on time.

Isaiah 33:22 – For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is the lawgiver, the Lord is our King; He will save us.

In Montpelier, Vermont, that afternoon, we read the motto for the state: “Freedom and Unity." It’s nickname is the "green mountain state." We prayed, trusting God to bring Vermont into a new place in Him with a new beginning. The beauty of the fall foliage in Vermont is breathtaking. We continued lifting our prayers for an awakening and revival that are so greatly needed.

On Thursday, October 15th, we left for Albany, New York, whose motto is "Excelsior," meaning “Higher”. Its nickname is "The Empire State." We found a sunny spot on the capital grounds and prayed intensely for the needs of this state.

We headed to Hartford, Connecticut on Friday, October 16th. Connecticut is Mohican for "Long Tidal River." The motto of the state is, “He who transplanted still sustains.” Connecticut earned its nickname, "The Constitution State," because the English settlers in 1639 recognized that they had a need for some form of government and therefore wrote the world's first modern constitution, The Fundamental Orders. It was the first written document in history to create a government of limited powers, with its primary goal to preserve the "liberty and purity of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus.”

Jeremiah 31:33, TLB - "But this is the contract I will make with them: I will inscribe My laws upon their hearts, so that they shall want to honor Me; then they shall truly be My people and I will be their God." We remember that the Lord is faithful to honor His Word as it will not return void.

On October 17, 2015, we drove to Providence, RI, our 49th state! Rhode Island means “red” island for its red clay, and is the smallest state in the USA with only 1214 square miles. The motto of Rhode Island is HOPE, and its nickname is Little Rhody. Our prayer time here was powerful in this little state. The weather had turned cold and the capitol building was closed, but we found a place on the outside porch of the building in the sun and stood and prayed from a very high place into the airways of this state.  God’s word rang true over Rhode Island!

We drove to Boston, Massachusetts, on Monday to pray for the 50th state in our mandate. God had brought us this far – to where our country began, and here he chose the place for us to end His mandate and finish strong. Massachusetts is the mother of our nation - the state that represents the very birth and development of a nation.  It also carries the theme – The Spirit of America! The motto for the state is:  By the Sword We Seek Peace, but Peace Only under Liberty.

The Boston Marathon is held on a Monday earlier in the year, and they have a motto of "Boston Strong." The people still remember the Boston Bombing from a few years ago during the Marathon. In the same manner, we were finishing "Strong" for Jesus in this "Marathon" to pray for each state at its capitol building. It was not to compete, rather only to do our best for Him. HE brought us to the finish line of our assignment. He has been faithful throughout this journey! HE will bring the realignment to the nation to bring the necessary changes for our country.

Our mandate from God was finished on October 19, 2015. It started in 2013 in Little Rock, Arkansas, and ended in Boston, Massachusetts.

Our Mandate: Travel to every state and go to the capitol building. Stand upon the capitol grounds and pray. Cry out to the Lord for the healing of the land and for the salvation of lost souls. Repent for the sins of the people. Seek and believe God for an awakening, and also for revival fire to spread throughout every state that He sends us.

We have done our best to honor this command from God.  Now we are trusting GOD to perform His word. The standing verse that He gave to us for the prayer treks: "Put your hope in the Lord. Travel steadily along his path. He will honor you by giving you the land. You will see the wicked destroyed." Psalm 37:34 (NLT)

So be it and it came to pass. Amen and Amen.
